A few things to know before you take something home
-
Yes! Smaller items can be shipped within the U.S. Shipping options and costs will be listed at checkout or on the individual product listing.
-
Yes. We're based in Austin, Texas, and local pickup is available for eligible items. Furniture and other large pieces may be pickup-only unless otherwise noted.
-
Absolutely. If local pickup is available for an item, you'll see that option when you check out. We'll send you the pickup details after your order is placed.
-
For some pieces, yes. Delivery availability and pricing will depend on the size of the piece and your location. If you're interested in something but aren't sure how to get it home, send us a message and we'll see what we can work out.
-
We don't have a traditional storefront, but if you'd like to see a larger piece in person before purchasing, reach out to us. We'll do our best to accommodate when we can.
-
Because many of our pieces are vintage, antique, restored, or one of a kind, all sales are generally final. We take care to provide plenty of photos and detailed descriptions, so please look everything over carefully and reach out with any questions before purchasing.
-
Please contact us as soon as possible with photos of the packaging and the item. We'll work with you to figure out the best way to make it right.
-
A lot of it is! Vintage and restored pieces are generally one of a kind, while handmade goods like pottery may be available in small batches or have similar pieces available. Once a one-of-a-kind piece is gone, it may be gone for good—but that's part of the fun.
-
We like old things to look old. Vintage and antique pieces will often have scratches, dents, wear, variations, and other signs of their previous lives. Handmade quilts and other textiles may also have uneven stitching, fading, stains, repairs, fraying, or other signs of age and use. We do our best to photograph and describe anything significant so you know what you're getting before you buy.
-
Yes. Matt makes all of the pottery by hand, so each piece will have its own little variations in shape, glaze, and texture. Those differences are part of what makes handmade pottery special.
-
Sometimes! Depending on our current schedule and the project docket. If you have an idea, send us a message and we'll let you know what's possible.
-
A little bit of everything! You'll see what we're making, what we're working on, things we're finding, furniture projects, pottery, sewing, and plenty of the everyday mess that comes with making things. We also share tutorials, tips, and things we've learned along the way because we like the idea of making this stuff feel a little more approachable. If we figure out how to do something, we'll show you how we did it. You’ll see a bit more BTS from Meg @bymegwheeler and have sneak peeks into collections by following @wheelermercantile.
